Groomer Schedule Information

Grooming Schedule for the North Shore State Trail and the Gunflint 'G Trail' Snowmobile Trail System:

The Gunflint 'G Trail' Snowmobile Trail System is groomed five to six days a week on a rotating basis, so that each section of the trail is groomed two to three times each week.

  • Monday: Lower Gunflint Trail (Poplar Lake to Devil Track Lake), Mushquash, Clearwater and Hungry Jack Spur
  • Tuesday: Gunflint Trail (Poplar Lake to Sag Lake), Express Way
  • Wednesday: Lower Gunflint Trail (Poplar Lake to Devil Track Lake), Swamper and Clearwater
  • Thursday: Gunflint Trail (Poplar Lake to Gunflint Lake)
  • Friday: Express Way, Clearwater and Hungry Jack Spur
  • Saturday: Mid-Gunflint Trail - Poplar Lake Area

 

The North Shore State Trail is groomed five days a week on a rotating basis.

  • Monday - Finland/Two Island River Rd to Caribou Lot (County Road 4)
  • Tuesday - Caribou Lot to Grand Marais
  • Wednesday - Finland/Two Island River Rd to Caribou Lot
  • Friday Night - Finland/Two Island River Rd to Caribou Lot & Caribou Lot to Grand Marais
  • Saturday Night - Finland/Two Island River Rd to Caribou lot & Caribou Lot to Grand Marais

The Grand Portage Trail System is groomed on a daily basis.

North Shore State Snowmobile Trail
From Duluth to Grand Marais, Minnesota the 153 mile long North Shore State Snowmobile Trail system traverses St. Louis, Lake and Cook Counties of Northeastern Minnesota, along the vistas overlooking Lake Superior. The trail system winds its way through forests and nearby Lake Superior scenic overlooks. (Requires MN State Snowmobile Permit Sticker)
